Effects of Using Mobile Apps for Mental Health Care in Korea: A Systematic Review

Purpose: This study aimed to systematically evaluate the content and effect of using Korean mobile apps for mental health care as reported in previous studies.Methods: We conducted a systematic review according PRISMA guidelines. Randomized controlled trials published up May 2021 were searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, RISS, KISS, KoreaMed databases. used risk-of-bias tool version 2 randomized selected studies.Results: Out 3,374 articles retrieved, 12 selected. These studies included people with disorders (mood disorder, panic or obsessive-compulsive disorder), psychiatric symptoms (depression, anxiety, attention deficit, etc.), specific groups (college students nurses). The based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, cognitive training, well-being cognition technique, relaxation techniques. effective reducing depression, attacks, negative emotions, dysfunctional attitudes, boosting memory positive emotions.Conclusion: Mobile well-established, theory-based can serve an intervention managing several symptoms. However, scope research subjects Korea remains limited. Further more varied populations are required.
